Which servo for my rc model?

RC servos control the steering and throttle for your rc model unless you are using an ESC in which you will only have a rc steering servo only.

Our range of servos can be found here.

1/10 and 1/8 scale rc servos are usually the same size, however those found on 1/5 scale models will use a larger steering servo. RC servos found on 1/16 scale models will use a smaller size servo (called a mini or micro servo).

Upgrading?

We recommend upgrading the steering servo to a metal gear version with higher torque. This will improve steering performance dramatically. Metal gear servos are much less likely to strip compared to plastic gear rc servos.

Remember when upgrading to a higher torque servo to ensure you use metal gears, the stronger the servo the more likely for it to have the force to stop the gears internally, for example going for a 15kg servo with plastic internal gears will wear down quickly.

Throttle rc servos can be also upgraded, but instead of strength, speed is usually the better option to help with throttle / brake responses.

How to find out if these servos will fit your model?

Please check the connector on your current rc servo is the same as one the pictured. If so these rc servos will fit in your receiver. Please also ensure you find out the scale of your servo (e.g. 1/10 scale), if in doubt check the sizes of the servo from the product description to ensure it fits. Their is three different types of connector generally used in rc (modern): Futaba / JR / Hitec.

Futaba features a lip on the edge to help ensure its connected correctly. JR and Hitec are identical to Futaba with exception to missing the lip on the egde.
